BART's Place
Mental Illness can cause mild to severe disturbances in thought and behaviors as well as result in an inability to cope with life's ordinary demands and routines. In addition, it can have a significant impact on family stability.
Approximately one out of five patients who are hospitalized with a mental illness have children. Many patients who are also parents report that their children would benefit from additional assistance.
The program, "Bringing All Relatives Together," serves hospitalized patients who are parents and their children, grandchildren, and siblings who are under age 16. This program has been recommended as a "Best Practice" by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and has been embraced by the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI) of Ohio.

Vision
BART's Place will provide an integrated program of clinically effective services that are responsive to the needs of the children and families with mental health issues. BART's Place will be a local and national leader in providing education, resources, and support for families of the mentally ill as they move toward recovery.
Mission
To nurture and support positive relationships between adults with mental illness and their children/relatives of preschool age through adolescence.
To promote resilience and healthy coping in the families of the mentally ill through interventions and education.
To work with communities, healthcare systems, and schools to increase the awareness of mental health needs of patients and their minor children.
To continuously improve our services through research, training, and consultation.
