Office of Research and Evaluation

Office Mission

To improve the quality and effectiveness of mental health services and enhance the recovery of mental health consumers through the development of empirically-based knowledge about mental health needs, services and outcomes. This is accomplished through the following: identification of research questions in important priority areas, funding and management of the ODMH Research Grants Program, developing and conducting research and program evaluations around ODMH priority program and policy areas, conducting analyses of administrative databases to inform policy, monitoring local program evaluation and the outcomes consumers are achieving, providing technical assistance regarding research/evaluation methodology and data analysis, and dissemination of research and evaluation results to all parties in Ohio’s mental health system.
