Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness (PATH)
Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness (PATH) is a formula grant administered by the Center for Mental Health Services, a component of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). PATH services are for people with serious mental illness, including those with co-occurring substance use disorders, who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless. PATH services include community-based outreach, mental health, substance abuse, case management and other support services, as well as a limited set of housing services.
For more information, contact Deborah Givens, (614) 466-7347.
SAMHSA's Homeless and Housing Resource Network (HHRN) will be offering two Virtual Learning Classrooms (VLCs) on housing to SAMHSA homeless programs grantees. Each of these classroom events will consist of four instructor-led virtual classroom presentations, coupled with alternating weeks of staff "office hours" and individual grantee consultation. Grantee teams will complete four assignments, each of which builds towards the creation of an implementation plan. Follow-up activities include six monthly conference calls to assess progress, identify challenges, and share successes in a peer-to-peer learning environment. Using the Adobe Connect platform, participants will connect with each other, and instructors, via webcam for an interactive and dynamic experience.
This opportunity is offered to active SAMHSA grantees providing services to persons who are homeless. This includes all CSAT Grants for the Benefit of Homeless Individuals (General, Services in Supportive Housing, and the Cooperative Agreements for the Benefit of Homeless Individuals), the CMHS Services in Supportive Housing grantees, and Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness (PATH).
Detailed descriptions, including schedules and presenter bios for each VLC are attached to this email, and summaries are provided below:
